ZDNetUK reports that Microsoft admits that as many as one application in 10 will experience problems due to the upgrade (I consider that a conservative estimate). I can access the BDE data simultaneously using MS Excel and Access without any problem. Does anyone have any idea about how I can resolve this problem? I think MS messed something up wrt BDE, shared mem, and multiple apps. Other combinations yield similar results, however if you attempt to run the 2 DevExpress exe's (withdevexpress.exe and devexpress2.exe) then the second exe will attempt to run, but fail with no error

Our components use the GDI+ library, which is necessary to properly paint our them. I sent them detailed steps and a test app, and they didn't ask for more help. SP2 is still beta, >>>but the problem has not been fixed as of the most recent build 2149. any ideas? > > > >Thanks > > Hi Jim, I saw this error starting with SP2 build 2142.

If access any data at all (via the BDE) in one application, all other apps refuse to look at any BDE data returning the BDE error code 15877. Is it an bde configuration error in my Delphi 7? It seems that the OS will only allow one process "owner" at a time to access this driver. Thanks for you time. If Microsoft doesn't fix this, we (my customers and my company) are in for a lot of trouble. Instead, it's idapi32.SetPrivateDir -> idapi32.SysLoadDriver ->[...] ->idpdx32.PDrvInit ->idapi32.OsGetSharedPtr Other than bugging MS some more, I don't know if there's anything ANY of us can do. any ideas? Microsoft closed our bug today as not reproducible, but Borland indicated to us (also today) that they're working to create a new case with Microsoft, and potentially re-open our bug report If I run the exe without the Delphi IDE it works as well. I suspect that XP SP2 (with some increased level of security?) is behind the problem.

Is there other known cases of this? http://onlinetvsoftware.net/bde-error/bde-error-10013-driver-not-known-to-system.php Board index The team • Delete all board cookies • All times are UTC Powered by phpBB © 2000, 2002, 2005, 2007 phpBB Group borland.public.delphi.database.desktop Discussion: BDE Error: Cannot Load Driver It seems to me this problem relates to an inability of the BDE driver to be shared simultaneously by different process owners. I also didn't check if running the same .exe from different paths at the same time causes the problem.

It's interesting that this is not just a Paradox problem (yours is the first evidence I've found), but it makes sense as the problem is not in the idpdx32.dll. Microsoft needs to fix the bug in the SP so that everything still works. I didn't investigate further, so I don't know how different .exe's that use the BDE have to be before this problem surfaces. Also, what release of the BDE are you using?
